ŒUVAL (pronounced “Huval”) is the musical project of singer, guitarist, and songwriter Kevin

Huval, part of Breaux Bridge’s celebrated Huval family of Cajun music virtuosos. Rooted in the

music he grew up with, Kevin pairs expressive singing with original French-language

songwriting and a hard-driving approach to older standards. Songs such as “Les Voyageurs,”

“Chariot Vert,” “Cane Harvest Blues,” and the unaccompanied “Oh Mamam” show a band

grounded in tradition but unafraid to press beyond it.

For this special Hideaway performance, Kevin is joined by Caroline Huval on vocals and guitar,

Horace Trahan on accordion, Beau Thomas on fiddle, Keith Sonnier on drums, and Allen

Williams on bass. Together, they play Cajun, Créole, and Zydeco music with respect for its

roots, room for something new, and a beat to keep people dancing
